I'm going to start working for a family at the end of the month. They have a 3 year old daughter who has some "developmental delays." The mother told me that they have run tests and, for now, ruled out autism. She can walk and talk, but sometimes it's harder for her to convey what she wants and she gets frustrated with herself. I haven't met their litter girl yet, but I kind of feel like the parents might just be putting a little too much pressure on their daughter. She's only three! But anyway, here's my question: Has anyone worked with children with developmental delays and if so, what kind of activities did you do to keep them entertained and stimulate their development?
Just trying to do some research beforehand. Any an all ideas/suggestions welcome!
